Backplate windows?

I just started using a new Olympus OM-2000 for my HIE
work. I haven't finished the first roll yet, but I'm
worried about the little see-through window on the
backplate of the camera. This window is a narrow slit
that lets you read the ISO rating directly off the
film canister. Obviously it's going to let in IR light.
I've covered it up with black electrical tape. I haven't
seen the results yet, but I hope the electrical tape
will prevent the film from fogging.
Now, I know other camera bodies have similar windows on the
backplate. Has anyone had any experience covering these
windows up? Does electrical tape work?
Thanks in advance,
Andy Frazer
