. Which do you generally shoot/prefer... b&w or color infrared film? B&W

2. Are you concerned with the technical specifications of infrared film
(the
'how' and 'why' it works), or only with the effects achieved by using
it....or both? Both, i'm pretty anal so i'm intersted in the tech too.
It's important for reference points for future situations as well.

3. What is your approach when shooting infrared with regard to ISO
rating,
metering, filtering, bracketing, etc.? with Kodak...ISO 200, # 29 red
filter, generally i go for a correct meter reading thru the filter, then
underexpose by 1 and 2 stops.

4. How did you arrive at this approach - extensive testing, trial and
error,
or just following the directions on the box? I tried the box directions
and didn't get anything useful so I went to the "waste alot of film"
method of testing.

5. What kinds of subjects do you feel are best suited for infrared
photography? I'm more of a landscape person. Anything that reflects IR
lightwaves..i guess i should say anything thats HIGHLY IR light
reflective.

6. Which light sources do you favor when shooting infrared? Very sunny
days or partially cloudy mixed with bright sun.

7. Do you think that, after shooting infrared for a while, a
photographer can
develop the ability to "see" in infrared? To a certain extent yes, I
look for where the brightest spots of sun fall on a subject, then
picture it in B&W, then try to picture it in IR

8. How do you normally process your infrared film? Have you
experimented
with processing methods to achieve different results? Development was
the WORST part for me to find a workable system. I use D-76, but am
going to try T-Max and HC-110 very soon.

9. Have you developed any techniques in the shooting or processing of
infrared film that work well for you? gentle agitation when developing,
before using it,keep film refridgerated!!!!! Always use a tripod and
cable release when possible!

10. What are you trying to achieve by using infrared film? What does it
do
for you that conventional film doesn't do? I am facinated with nature
and the unexplainable things that happen in it, such as lightning,
tornado's, the afterlife, life's origins, etc. IR kind of gives me a
peak at an invisible world that cannot be seen with hte naked eye, like
an alternate realm, of sorts.
Good Luck with your project!!!!
