IR at Night
Following from:
i wonder if any of you could possibly give my some tips about using kodak
hie at night? i will be taking photos of lit buildings and suchlike. i do
not want to use flash. i will obviously have the normal tripod and cable
release for timed exposures, and will be using an R25 filter.
thanks in advance for any help

A couple of points. Building illumination is often done with lights
with discontinuous spectra so it is possible that there will be an
uncertain amount of infrared in the light - even almost none in some
cases.
Secondly, the opposite applies as well. Some buildings will be
illuminated by near-infrared security searchlights and floods which
might appear in unlikely places in your shots. Ideally, take a CCD
camera with an infrared filter along and check for these things.
Don't forget to check the film data for reciprocity failure.
