There have been lengthy discussions on the list about pinholes in HSI 4x5
film. These can be read in the archives if you are interested.
The facts can be found in the Infrared FAQ on the CoCam website at the

Natural acids on fingers is not reason for pinholes - the real reason is
associated with the manufacturing process. Inappropriate development
techniques can also cause problems.
