x-ray trauma

I personally was told in the airport that anything slower than 3200
speed films could pass safely through the machines, by the person
running it, so I sent my camera bag and film on through. After passing
through the attendant asked for my permission to do a hand check, saying
that whenever they saw a suspicious shape they were required to ask
before looking. They checked out my camera and never even touched the
film canisters of Fuji Velvia and Kodak HIE. Apparently under the right
conditions the Canon A2 may resemble an uzi through the x-ray machine.
;-) They were very polite and didn't waste unnecessary time searching.
(this was in the Cleveland airport) Upon processing the HIE etc. was all
fine with no x-ray trauma visible after two swipes through the machines.
