I"m making a lot of assumptions in reading this request to reach a
commercial seller of
the work that you do and protects it with copyrights and takes over owership
and
gives you a "royalty". You are doing this to help people and make life
better, so why
let them put an economic and legal barrier to gain access to your work. Why
can't there
just be a huge server of work that people want the world to see and the cost
would be
small. We were just having a discussion over an auction of three MP3 CDs
that someone
made of dance music (I was the only bidder and it went for the opening
price.) Apparently,
after the sale the seller wanted a statement from me that I had this music
in my library
and this released him from liability. I told him I did not have a clue what
was on the
CDs and that I would buy them, if he wanted to sell under those conditions.
I felt that
the artists wanted their music to be heard and not the money, if they had to
choose.
I have more interest in the things that people like so much that they can't
help showing it
and giving it away, than those that are the opposite and do it for the
money. I do look
at both for comparison and see which group has more heart and warmth and try
to
understand.
