I've found most of my image requests come from people after images of 
specific areas who find me from web searches rather than stock 
libraries.  And with sites like 
<http://www.altavista.com/cgi-bin/query?mmdo=16&stype=simage> becoming more 
popular there may well be no need...  and you can get all the money, while 
you show your images for free. A lot depends on the extra work you put into 
your web pages to make sure they can be found with the right search terms.
