Time for some more lateral thinking....
You are planning to take picks in very low light...
The purpose of the filter in IR photography is primarily to block 'visible'
light.
If there is very little visible light then there is no need for a filter.
If we now add a single filtered light source there is still no need for a
filter on the lens.
IR filters do block some IR light so a filter over both lens and flash
would be unnecessarily reducing the amount of IR reaching the film (even if
it is only a little bit, it'll still be two times a little bit).
If there is no filter over the lens it may be still possible to just see
enough through the view finder to compose (depending on how dark it is of
course, what aperture your lens is, what type of screen you have etc....)
i.e. The best place for the filter is on your flash.
Now Konica IR (read "a sloooooooow film") at night with flash.... I hope
everything's nice and close to the camera
Enjoy
Cheers
Ben
