This sounds like a practical solution for a darkroom at
least, but I was hoping a paper leader would allow
subdued-light loading outside the darkroom, as is possible
with rollfilm using backing paper.

Ordinarily, one 70mm cassette is plenty of film, but in a
couple of months I'll be getting on a sailboat bound for
Alaska, and I'd like to be able to load a fresh roll of
film below decks without having to make a temporary
darkroom. I had planned on using a changing bag before the
paper leader idea struck me, and I'll still do that if the
paper leader doesn't work, but I'd be much happier being
able to see what I'm doing.
