>From my observations looking at 70mm casettes with an IR camcorder this
should easily be possible. As I mentioned before the felt material will
need to be replaced as it is the MAIN REASON FOR IR LIGHT LEAKAGE. You will
need to buy some IR opaque felt. Don't know of any internet sources, but try
your local fabric store. Light piping through the film is nominal and I'm
guessing you might not even need a paper leader. But just to be safe, tape
on a leader and run a small test strip of film. I happen to have about 800
feet of 70mm opaque film leader. Send me a Self Addressed 8x11 envelope and
I'll send you a few 10" strips long enough to act as a starter leader.
It's quite durable stuff, so you can reuse it. Also look in the archives for
my ideas on how to bulk load 35mm IR film in IR proof 35mm casettes. Same
concept, just with smaller casettes.

By the way how is the Mamiya camera for IR shooting? I have a 70mm back,
but just haven't gotten around to buying the camera yet. Do you find it too
heavy to lug around?

Peace Rolland
