ITT makes a range of night vision tubes that can be mounted on 
video-cameras, including C(S)-mount and Canon
s pro digi-cam's of the last decade. 
Note that this increases only the light-amplification, not 
the IR-sensitivity as such (in fact some video-cams see further into IR than 
these night vision scopes themselves).
Real fun starts if you add IR-only lights....even a tiny Maglite will 
be dazzling bright, stronger stuff allows visibility at miles 
distance...
(there are even searchlights (with IR-filter) that can be focussed 
for such purposes)
