Nikon Coolpix 990

Hi,

Nikon phoned this morning and they have indeed changed the infrared 
blocking filter on the 990 so the 950 is a better bet for infrared. 
That's a real shame but Nikon are concerned about magenta casts on 
caucasian skin, which is apparently a problem with the 950. My 
contact is going to ask about the D1 for me although that is MUCH 
more expensive of course ... but at least I could use my existing 
lenses.

They are not discontinuing the 950.
