Suggesting where to go and what to shoot in this area is nearly impossible 
without knowing what you like to shoot and how much time you have.  Golden 
Gate Park has all sorts of good venues, Palace of Fine Arts is small but 
architecturally interesting, as is the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  If 
you like large gardens, Filoli is one of the best... about 20 minutes 
south.  If you've got more time, there's the delta, wine country... the 
list goes on.
