Actually it amazes me how people spend so much money on the mass produced
crap that is produced today. Many older "so so" cameras actually had
reasonably good optics when compared to some of the small crappy lenses in
todays compact cameras. I'm not that old, but I can still believe that in
many cases they don't make 'em like they used to. You can have all of your
electronic wizardry to make your decisions for you but it is still the lens
that captures the image.
I've had a lot of people approach me with their old rangefinder cameras
saying they are looking at upgrading to a new camera but don't want to
spend to much and my advice is always "get the camera serviced, before you
even think of buying a new one"
Cheers
Ben
