Ditto. The oldest lens taken on my recent USA trip was made in 1947, the
youngest was made in the late eighties. One camera was made in the 50's the
other in the 60's.
Looking at the trannies made with the oldest and youngest lenses using a 7x
loupe (same time and place) I cannot see any difference. These lenses were
fairly inexpensive but selected for their optical performance :-)
At the end of the day it is the resulting photograph which really counts -
any half-decent camera with a good lens will do the trick as Ben suggests.
What really counts is the vision of the photographer and with infrared some
idea of how the final photo will look when printed, mounted and framed.
