Joe,
I’ve never had any problems with defects in this film in the last few years.
I’ve shot about 30 to 40 rolls of the film. A few years ago I had one roll
that had some small red marks, but I think those were due to rough handling
during development. Lately I have not shot much 35mm EIR, mostly medium
format 220 rolls. The 6x7 transparencies are just awesome.
Clive,
I really disagree that the effect is just a one time thing. I've shot many
rolls and am always excited to see the results.
I know we’ve talked about concerns about xray damage in the past, but I’ve
shipped medium format infrared film to several places around the world
without any damage. I firmly believe that the United States Postal service
DOES NOT regularly scan mail with high dosage xray levels. I’m so sure that
I’d refund any international order that shows proof of xray damage.
Peace Rolland

RE: 35mm Color Infrared Film, Kodak EIR, for Sale $7.95 per 36exp roll
I just joined this group and am very interested in EIR IR film. I am doing
research using this exact film and would love to get some at a cheaper cost.
Please send me details.

Rolland I'll be ordering at least 10 rolls of EIR from you soon. One quick
question. Have you noticed any pinholes showing up in the processed slides
or
any blue lines or streaks? These problems have been showing up with the new
EIR film, especially the streaks of blue in the light areas of the
slide.I've
shot close to 100 rolls and Kodak still has yet to correct these
imperfections in the film. Thanks.>>>

It's the sort of effect which works once - eg the Hendrix album cover - but
soon becomes hackneyed unless you are doing something very creative with
the subject matter or composition.
I have never used the film but may be tempted to try a roll now that you
have started to supply it at such a reasonable price. The only potential
problem for me is that I am based in England and the film would undoubtably
have to be shipped such that it passes through the dreaded baggage
scanner.>>>
