That is, IMO, the whole point. Come in from overseas with a camera that
is all beat up looking, nobody is goging to question you too closely, but
come in with something that looks ands even smells brand new, yes, they
probally will question you.
So I guess the moral is, after you buy a new camera overseas, roll it
around int he mud a bit, scuff up the corners with steel wool, and wrap it
in a sweaty old shirt on the way back. :)
More on topic, just developed (but nto yet printed ) sopme Maco IR in 4x5.
Rodinal, 1:50, jobo tube on motorized base, 20 C, 11 minutes, metered at
12 and 25 ISO, using a B+W #29 deep red filter,a nd so far, the negativs
look good.
After I print them I can tell which exposure is best, but they look good.
Reciprocity failure, or lack thereoff, looks good too. I stil ahve some
more to develop, but I did a series of shots ranging ffrom 4 seconds at F45
to 1 minute at F45. The 4 secodn figure is what value my spot meter gave
me, and while the 1 minute was way overexpsoed, some of the 12 and 20
second shots look not half bad, maybe event eh 20 secodn over exposed a wee
bit.,
Hopefully in teh next 2-3 weeks I'll get some prints made, some scans
made, and post them on my web page.
