Rolland,
This is a debate which could continue, however I am happy to hear that you
have had no problems so far transporting film whether by surface or airmail.
Film for me is one of the factors which should have no unknowns once you
have been using it for a while. Surprises are great but not when you have
perhaps travelled 4000 miles to photograph something in an inhospitable
place and are unlikely to return for a few years....
Given the possibilities of xray damage I will not be buying film for
serious use from overseas, whether by surface or airmail carrier, unless
the vendor agrees to follow the USPS instructions.
Will probably be back in the USA again next year so hope to arrange with
you to purchase some film whilst staying in the US.
