Shooting from a Blimp

Hi,
Re what Bertha saw:
At the Production Show in London recently a company was
selling/renting out a small blimp for photographic/video use. It was
being demonstrated floating around the exhibition hall and, I
believe, supporting a professional video camcorder. The blimp was
tethered and the operator had remote control and viewing of the
camera output. This kind of thing has been around for a few years and
should be listed in film/video/tv production guides.
One thought that comes to mind is that they were probably using an
optically stabilised lens to minimise shake. These are common on
camcorders (especially Canon) but not so much on stills lenses. Would
be nice though wouldn't it ;-) In general I believe you can tolerate
more shake in video than for stills.
