RE: Coloured filters and EIR

I have used both a Hoya Yellow (K2) and a Cokin Yellow (001)and they do give
very different results.

However when you compare the filters side by side you can see that the Cokin
is a much darker/stronger yellow than the Hoya.  So IF the Hoya filter you
use is a K2 this will be your explanation.

I have also tried EIR with both 12,13,14 and 15 Wratten filters and although
there is not much diffrence in each filter colour that you can see, they do
make a noticable amount of colour shift on the film (with each one giving
slightly warmer images, the K2 gave realy quite cold).  So I guess it
depends on how much of the Blue part of the spectrum the Yellow's are
blocking and it does seem quite sensative to slight colour variations.

Hi,

Chatting filters over a drink recently Spearmint and I realised that 
with ostensibly the same colour filter we got completely different 
results with IR Ektachrome. I use Hoya and he uses Cokin.

This would explain why we get such diversity of results with this 
stuff. The infrared response of the coloured filters must differ 
significantly. One for Cocam I think? Any thoughts Clive?
