Introducing myself

Hello out there,

My name is Gerard de Vrueh i am 35 years young and i live in the Netherlands
together with my wife (geraldine) and son (Max) and two cats . I am data and
process analist and work in the field of European agricultural regulations.

I am practice photografie for about ten years now. I have done three years
photografie at the academie af royal arts. I did this besides my job in the
evenings mainly for fun, until i had enough of just learning to take
photografs for commercial purposses. I now do mainly bl&wt photografie and
focus on alternative processes such as chrysotype, argyrotype and cyanotype
and have done some gumprinting as well. I like landscape portrait and
stillife.

I would like to learn more about IR fotografie and combine this with my
experiments on alternative processes. Currently i would like to find out
more about making black and white slides from Kodak HIE and Ilford SFX wich
i would like to develop in Tetenal dia developer.
I need developing times and exposure guides for that but probably have to
make a test myself.
The reason for making slides is, i can make enlarged negatives onto
halftonefilm (agfa GO210P) without having to make an interpositive from
negative, saving time and material. (I have done this with normal b&w filf
and this works very good. the high contras in a slide is an advantage with
alternative processes as argyrotype as these require high contrast negs
anyway)

But until that i have to find out how to work best ont these materials and
have to shoose one of them. Kodak HIE is more sensitive to IR than SFX wish
is "a mild " infrared film as i have understood. But ilford SFX i availeble
in 120 film and i like to shoot at 6x6 for quality.
so if i can get a nice infrared effect on that i think i will shoose ilford.
I'll be using a 8x red filter from B+W is that good enough or do i have to
take another filter for good results?

I hope that besides feeding on this groop i can also contibute once in a
while.

Greetings from the Netherlands
Gerard de Vrueh
