Thanks for the quick response.
Seems to back up the reports posted in the Infrared FAQ. Achieving an
image is possible using the Coolpix 990 and a near opaque infrared
filter but the results are poor compared to those possible with the
Coolpix 950.
Some examples of Coolpix 950 infrared work are in the CoCam Gallery
kindly contributed by Carl Schofield.
So, look for a nicely discounted Coolpix 950 if you want to travel
the Nikon route for digital infrared photography :-)
