RE: Nikon Coolpix 990

It seems to be a filter that blocks IR from about 700 to 900-1000nm. It
appears that folks that have removed their IR blocking filter use this when
they don't want ir to "interfere" with a particular image. But of course I
would ask what's the point of buying a digital camera, if it's not going to
be used for IR shooting. ;-)
