- Name: Keith Zimmerman

- Profession/Study: Mainframe Computer Technician/B.S. in ArtHistory (love German Expressionism, Surrealism, Minimalism, and Japanese Art)

- Country: USA

- Personal history of photography: Self-taught over 20 years. Began with color print film to learn my camera (Pentax K-1000), what it could do and how to get the results I desire. I'm still trying to get to that last point.

Once I knew my camera, I began to explore other areas and discovered the world of Black and White.  I built my first darkroom and began creating some lovely images.  Alas, I lost my darkroom after movingto a country home.

I joined a local camera club and learned how to compete and judge photgraphically, and make better pictures.

My first introduction to Infrared was through an informal group of friends.  One of them was shooting photos of her new-born daughter with infrared and was getting beautiful images.  I also discovered Jill Enfield's images.  I did some study on the subject and decided to try some Konica 750.  I was able to obtain some interesting results with the first roll by using recommended settings with no testing on my own.

I am now  in the process of testing Ilford sfx200 to determine a starting point for using it.

- Preferred subjects: The creative process, the art of seeing, the different films, digital possibilities for Infrared.

- Materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry):  Currently testing Ilford sfx200.  Also shoot Kodak 200 color print, Fuji Neopan 400, Fuji Sensia.  Currently use Wratten 25 for Black&White (love the contrast).   No darkroom work.

- Format (35mm/medium format/large format): 35mm.  I shoot a Pentax ZX-5, but still use the Pentax K-1000 on occasion.

- Other strange hobbies: Collect 'colored glass and gold' shotglasses

- How did you find out about this list: Internet search on Infrared

- In case you already have your own IR-Gallery on the web, please
state the URL/address: (I will then also add your site to the overview
of
IR-Galleries on my homepage!....think of the fame you can get....:-))
No IR-gallery, but do have a photo gallery

- Expand on anything photographic you like: My current project is to determine if any infrared films can be machine processed.  I am also investigating digital infrared.

I tend to shoot relatively simple compostions for most of my work.  I find that the old adage of less is more.  I like to think of my work as a tiny slice of the world.

I will post a message with the results of my Ilford test.
