EPSON 870/1270/875DC and spontaneous print color changes.... (OT)

In case anyone is using one of these printers and wonders why
their proofs seem to shift their color range over time...
Or if you are considering purchasing one..
In case you haven't' heard about the dreaded "orange-shift"...
The cyan dye is flawed and under some atmospheric conditions will fade
substantially in under 24 hours, resulting in a perceived color shift towards
orange.. It seems Ozone is a primary culprit..
Kind of a problem, since EPSON advertised the 1270 for Pros, even got a
Professional Photographers of America endorsement, and said the prints would
last as long as traditional silver prints..
Just be aware and forewarned...
I have a website tracking the problem...
If you want info on getting into EPSON's unannounced buyback for the units
(including expended consumables), the problem in general, or info on protecting
your prints, head to the website...
The website address is in the signature.
