Printers

I was planning to replace my Epson Photo 700 and I really wanted the new
Epson 2000P; however, budget considerations being what they are, I was
tending toward the Epson 870. Then I heard about the problems with fading
ink. Should I look at other printers, or is this printer ok if I stay away
from the Premium Glossy Paper? What do you think about the Canon BJC-8200?
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Dear Stan,

I use an Epson 1270, and the print quality is amazing! But I too am a bit
apprehensive about the archival qualities of the prints.

Here is what I know:

Prints from the 1270(870) last longer than prints from my
         original Stylus Photo

Prints on Heavy weight matte are less prone to fade and my
tests with spray fixative are very encouraging.

If you get a 2000P, tell me/us about it.
