NIKON autofocus choices and IR
HELP!! I have read this Digest everyday for over a year now.
I really need help on this one!
I am looking for a new 35mm SLR.
I have a Nikon FE2 that I love, and use it for IR work, weddings, etc.
I would like to sell all my current gear to buy new autofocus stuff.
I want an AutoFocus and would like to replace the FE2, however, I am
concerned for the
following reasons:
1. Autofocus lens do not have the IR focusing mark on them, and I cannot
afford to keep my old lenses.
2. The talk on this thread has me scared of newer cameras.
I have done some research and have narrowed my search to the following
cameras:
NIKON F100, NIKON N80, NIKON N90S.
I have found that the Nikon N80 WILL NOT WORK WITH IR!!!
The brouchure from Nikon says on page 15 (and I quote)
"Infrared film cannot be used with this camera, because the N80
detects the film perforation with an infrared ray. "
I am now afraid of all F100 due to the fact that the N80 is a scaled down
F100.
Can anyone help? I know I want a Nikon, what advise can you give me about
the cameras
and the focusing with the new lens? Help on great ones!!! You are my only
hope!!
