Thanx for the website, but, for what it's worth, it is spelled with 2 t's
for sure. The guy who discovered the effect was named Armand Sabattier,
found the process in 1862--I figure we should give the poor guy his due AND
spell his name correctly! There are some incredible examples of the
Sabattier effect in Man Ray, Photography and its Double by Sayag. He
sabattiered (can I make a verb out of a name?) his negatives, not his
prints, so the mackie lines are black around the objects instead of white.
It is funny that, in this book, written by two French persons, they, too,
call it solarization mostly, even though they mention "Sabattier effect"
once. Solarization seems an easier word to say, and, of course, to spell...
