Actually, when shooting on very cold days, with inherently low humidity,
one has a high chance of causing static discharges, visible on film.
However, this somehow seems to have a correlation with older
cameras; at least I never encountered any of that, not even at -20C
(and a high-speed EOS-1)....not sure why, perhaps coating on the
pressure-plate changed, or the conductivity of the entire structure
from pressure-plate to back to body (and film rails)
changed.....although one would expect that a full metal body does
better in this department than a modern camera....but one never
knows, R&D does wonders....
