>- Name: Shelly Jefferson
>
>- Profession/Study: Graduate student at the University of Maryland (UM),
>studying counseling education.
>
>- Country: United States
>
>- Personal history of photography: I have always loved taking pictures
>since I was a small kid. I took a few courses in photography at my
>undergraduate university and now I am working for the photography
>department at UM. My work recently has been driven by my desire to broaden
>my knowledge and skills in photography. As far as the future and where I
>am going with this, I hope that I can somehow combine photography and
>counseling/therapy with children in my chosen profession.
>
>- Preferred subjects: PEOPLE!! and also animals, sports, social
>events/activities, nature, landscapes ... anything not too industrial.
>I've been trying to move toward a more abstract and artistic photographic
>vision as well, but I think I have not been so successful at this!
>
>- Materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry): yes, I use these =) I use
>35mm B&W Kodak film ... I'm learning about filters and slowly starting to
>aquire some ... I generally use Illford Multigrade RC paper, but I have
>recently purchased some Illford Fiber based and also warm-tone and
>cool-tone RC to try out ... I use the chemicals that they provide in the
>photo lab at school, Kodak I believe. I also have done some toning and
>hand-coloring....
>
>- Format (35mm/medium format/large format): 35mm right now. Hopefully when
>I get a job and have "extra money" (if there is such a thing), I'll be able
>to delve into medium format!
>
>- Other strange hobbies: camping, hiking, mountain biking - anything
>outdoors and adventurous (i.e. rockclimbing, skydiving once or twice, etc.)
>... and when I can't do those things, I'll settle for a good match of
>racquetball or tennis!
>
>- How did you find out about this list: I am trying to learn more about
>infrared photography before I start experimenting, and I found information
>about this list while I was surfing the internet.
