The only thing you can do is send the lens to Canon. I had a compairable
problem with a EF 28/2.8 and the reason was that the eletronic did not
like beer ....  

The repair costed DM 250.- (~150(?) Canadian $) because the whole electronic
which is inside the lens was replaced.
