Re: hand coloring forte paper (I assume)

Now I"m really embarrassed; it is Dektol, not D-76. For some reason my
brain always confuses the two because they both begin with D. Go
figure---it's not like I confuse "Don" with "Dektol"...oh, and I mixed it
1:2. (What's even worse, is at Hutching's pyro workshop where I was a TA
for Gordon I was telling a student that we use Xtol for a paper developer in
the school I went to!! Luckily the student corrected me very nicely.
(another adjunct was diplomatic in calling me "artistic" instead of "space
case-y").)Now, if I am not mistaken (correct me, Don, please, if I am wrong)
according to Ephraums a shorter development time will produce warmer tones
(using the factorial system of developing, a factor of 3). And, the warmest
tones would be this shorter time in Neutol. I have yet to try the Forte in
Neutol to check it out. But the dektol I used at 1:2 I was also using a
development time of 3 minutes, so perhaps the unattractive "greeny" tone
that someone mentioned didn't show up at the longer dev time and colder tone
developer.
