Not being an authority here on this, but here goes: isn't it true that the
more dilute the developer the warmer the paper tone? Dektol normally
produces colder tones, though, but usual dilution is 1:2, correct? That
coupled with old paper. I had the same thing happen to me this week; an old
package of paper I was using to print contacts turned out totally grey,
muddy, and unusable for even contact sheets. I tossed it. However, they
were not brownish at all; I was using Dektol 1:2.

10 mins under the safelight and developed it. I did in fact have a change
