a friend gave me a plastic filter several years ago that exhibits the
characteristics that you mention.
for years i have been looking for that same filter, to no avail.
I finally broke down and ordered a small Hoya R72 filter. It is very close.
It will allow you to
preview the wood effect by eye. I'm tempted to order a couple more and make
a pair of goggles.
