Thanks for the reply.... I finally found a few references from the list
regarding the 990, and found a "somewhat flat" (agreed) IR sample image
on a list member's site. What about the 800 series? The 880 for example
- has anyone tried it for IR? I know digital is not exactly a favorite
topic on the list, and I have no intention of using to replace HIE. I
develop and print all my own work in a darkroom, and will continue to do
so. But since I am going to buy a Nikon digital camera anyway, I just
want to be sure it will at least allow me to use it as a (another
worn-out topic on this list) "preview device".  :=o

Has anyone else any experience with the Nikon line of digitals? I'd
rather just slap on a filter and shoot away - I'm not about to dismantle
my brand new camera to remove any internal filters.
