Re: IR Flash

Being new to IR, this is an interesting question for me. My understanding, as
erroneous as it may be, from initial readings were that flash has very little
IR in it. My conclusion was that putting any red filter in front of a flash
would filter out other light, but still leave very little IR light coming
through. If I am wrong, and you can actually generate IR with a filtered
flash, then this is great news since I have a twenty year old flash that came
with a full set of slip on hard plastic filters including a red one. I am
anxious to read the expert responses to this thread.-Fred (who just processed
his first two rolls of IR-but more of that in another message thread).

p.s. I think The IR Handbood suggests using tungsten lights (which have lots
of IR) to light indoor shots, with no filter on camera - at least with Kodak
IR film.
