Re: color ir

I just picked up my first roll of Kodak color IR. I always have shot
b&w IR with great results. Just wondering what is a good EI starting
point with the color IR? I do not have a #12 orange filter as
recommended by Kodak. EI at 160...??...200.......?
I have shot color EIR extensively- about 400-500 rolls in the last 2 years. I
always use an orange or yellow filter, together with a polarizer. I rate the
film at ISO200 and usually shoot at 1 full stop down (smaller) from the meter
reading.I know this equals setting the ISO at 400 and shooting what the meter
reads, just a force of habit as that is how I always shoot it.Great results
that way. Strong color saturation, dark blue skies, magenta foliage.Red
objects will usually reproduce as yellow and vice versa. Green and blue will
record as purple. No need to adjust focus or load and unload in total
darkness, as you would with HIE. Have fun shooting and post your results!
