pinholes in infrared sheet film

"One year, dozens of pin holes appeared on each sheet when developing the
film in D-76. The cause is unknown, but there is a simple solution. Hold
the film in the stopbath solution 2 or 3 minutes before pouring off the
stopbath..."
To Chris and the group,
Pinholes in IR sheetfilm are caused either by manufacturing defect (tiny
irregular marks) or air bubbles during developement (larger round marks) and
they are light spots on negatives. The first problem can only be solved by
retouching and the second by better agitation in the developer.
Kodak has discontinued the production of HSI sheet film due to lack of
demand - and manufacturing problems.
