Daniel,
The #29 filter allows some visible light to pass whereas the 89b filter cuts
almost any visible light. So the IR effects of the 89b filter will be
theoretically stronger. However I can tell you from my own experience that
you can hardly notice any difference! Also the #29 filter is easier to
handle (you can look through the viewfinder of a reflexcamera.). Depending
how you develop your film, the ISO rating for the 89b filter should be
lower. In my case ISO 50 as against ISO 100 for the #29 filter. You can also
consider to use a #25 red filter which does the job excellently. Here I
expose for ISO 200. Look at my website (address in footer below) for more
