RE: EIR
Joe is correct in saying it can be loaded and unloaded in daylight, however
I have had fogging show up on two rolls that got processed.
The lab collects them in thick black plastic bags for processing (which are
good and light tight) and I put just the film cassette in the bag (bare, not
in a film tub). What appears to have happened they them emptied the bag
onto a bench labelled the film and left it there until they had time to
processes it. I had always foolishly presumed that they would stay in the
bag until they were about to process them. After questioning them, they
said it could have stayed there for up to 6 hours and I expect this will of
caused the fogging. The fogging was only visible on about the first 6 shots
or so but still a annouyance.
So my recommendation would be that loading and unloading in daylight is OK,
but place the film in back in it's tub and tape it shut so the Lab can read
the instructions and follow them.

Absolutely! They always want to be over cautious- no
liability that way, if
there should be a problem. You can load & unload normally.
You don't need to
adjust focus either, due to the visible light emulsion
layers outnumbering
the IR emulsion layer.
