RE: Maco 820

Possibly not too much help to you, but I recommend you use a different
filter to the 87, a R72 or 88A would be a better bet.

However I shot a roll through a couple filters to get a judge for film
speeds to shoot at (hence me giving up on the 87!). My rough results were
as follows (on a Cannon EFM);

Cokin 003 (red) - 8 ASA when metered with the filter in place. **Note :
this gave no real IR effect**
Hoya R72 - 1 ASA with no filter in place.
Lee 87 - 4 stops below 3 ASA (a theoretical 0.19 ASA? now that is SLOW!)
with no filter in place.
(Other tests were done with a filtered Autometer with 5 degree's spot
attachment, which works very nicely)

These films were processed in DiXactol a twin bath developer (which I do not
rate), but I sometimes use it when I have no idea of film speed as it only
has one dev time. This then helps we work out a dev time to try with Xtol
or PMK.

		OK, All,

		I, too, have a few rolls of Maco 120 size film and have yet
to shoot it.  I
		have also assumed it would be like Konica and would plan on
using it in the
		same manner. However, I use my Konica with a #87 filter and
process it in
		Acufine - which is probably not a regimen that too many of
you use.  I guess
		the best information for me would be a direct film speed
comparison between
		the Konica and the Maco, processed in any old developer and
with as
		infrareddish a filter as possible (87 would be nice). I
could then make some
		initial guesses where to start. Has anyone done this?
