I might suggest The Alamo (get there early before tourists take over) and the 
RiverWalk - lots of trees, water, mariachi bands, very Mexican feel. They are 
walking distance from each other.

Good luck and enjoy, the weather in Central Texas is 70 degrees and sunny.
