Actually, I don't really have a problem telling the reserve. I was just
answering in the spirit of the other humorous posts. I set the reserve at $75.
My own bidding style is to ignore the reserve prices, if any, and simply
place a bid at what I'm willing to pay for an item. If I exceed the
reserve, then I'm in the auction. If I don't, then it's more than I would
pay anyway. Do other people use knowledge of the reserve price (assuming
the seller will disclose it) as part of their bidding strategy? If so, I
would be interested in finding out how, because maybe I could improve my
own strategy. Of course, this is off-topic, so please reply off-list.
