Maco vs. Konica-base + fog ?

I recently shot a few rolls of both maco and konica
IR.  My question is, after developing them, the konica
has a medium grey base and the maco is clear.  I used
the same chemistry on both.  They were done within
hours of each other.  I guess my question is is this a
normal base for konica?
