It is the material which is important rather than the colour. IR
reflectance of pure materials can be predicted, however most
materials are blends of different materials.
I have a black bag which appears to made of the same material
throughout. The bag side panels are highly IR relective and appear
white, the strap is not refelctive and appears black.
The safest way to ensure you have a black background is to test
either using IR film or an IR capable digital camcorder or camera.
