Paul and the Group:
OK, I'll speak up.
I learned photography on a 1948 Kodak Reflex and have always
enjoyed 2-1/4" photography. My stereophotography began six or so
years ago with the point-and-shoot cha-cha and a ViewMagic, then
I discovered the listserver, corresponded with George Themelis,
realized he lived only a few miles from me, and found that there
was an active community of stereophotographers in the Cleveland,
Ohio area.
My wife got me a nice gift of a Sputnik outfit a few years ago,
so that's the medium format connection. I think I happened to
get a good Sputnik specimin; the lenses have good sharpness and
only a slight coma. I have mostly been shooting transparencies
and viewing using the Sputnik viewer over a light table. The
pictures get lots of "oohs" and "ahhs"! I have also used the
camera for making Holmes cards.
I also use an Iloca 35 mm stereo camera, recently returned from a
long-term loan and very nicely refurbished by Essex Camera
Service in New Jersey (highly recommended for quality and
professionalism--there was a small problem which they made good
on immediately and at their own expense).
So that's my intro. Others?
