[MF3D.FORUM:257] sending files to mailing lists

I am grateful that such creative and active people subscribe to this
list. That's what makes it so valuable. But this is the second time
in a week that someone has mailed a photo to the entire list. I have
been very busy lately, and can't afford the extra trouble this
causes. One file like this doubles or triples the time it takes to
get my mail.
I would be grateful if folks with photos would mail them *off-list*.
The usual way to handle this is to say something like "a photo is
available, please write for a copy." Then you send the photo just to
the one or two people who want it.
Otherwise, the file must be downloaded by dozens of people who don't
want it. It is considered poor netiquette to send files to an entire
mailing list for this reason. Most lists have a rule against it.
Haven't been able to keep up with the list recently. Best wishes to all.
Cordially,
Tom Deering
