OK, just a few words from me.
MF stereo is one of my latest photographic endeavours and
adventures (well, actually bromoil printing is the very
latest, just a few days old ;-)
I've been using a FED Stereo as well as a Nikon rig and a
beamsplitter for a few years now and other photographic
stuff (35mm as well as MF) for more than two decades.
The MF stereo adventure began with a Sputnik - no surprise ;-)
I plan to use it mainly for infrared photography. Why this?
Well, most infrared films are quite grainy which has its
charm in 'flat' photography but is simply annoying in
stereoscopic photography. The large image are of MF is a
huge advantage here.
Right now, my Sputnik isn't fully operational yet. I had
the lenses and shutters adjusted but still haven't fixed
all light leaks. From my experiences with other cameras
I can say that infrared seems to be especially demanding.
BTW: The main problem I had with my Sputnik's lenses was
not only that they were off fokus, but that they had
noticable slack. This caused alignment errors and possibly
also some motion blur due to moving lens elements during
shutter operation.
What else is on my MF stereo TODO list? Well, from time
to time I'm thinking about a rig of two panoramic Horizons
(24x58mm). That would be something in between 35mm and MF.
