Oh, no! was my recent,written-with-a-bad-cold posting so dense
and un-intelligeble
that it started an avalanche of "un-subscribes"?
And now my simple interpretation of divergence: When you view
a stereocard in a
stereoscope, you are effectively looking through the two
"inside" halves of the viewing
lens pair ,which bends the light path, which allows you to
view an image pair with a
greater separation than your eyes have.( 3 to 3.5 inches for a
common stereocard)
This principle and its reverse must also apply to slides in a
viewer. Besides, having
an interoccular adjustment on your viewer gives you something
else to play with.

John Billingham
