It depends on your software configuration.  I use
Netscape instead of Outlook or OE, and on the "advanced"
configuration tab I have de-selected "Enable JavaScript
for Mail and News," so a virus like this one cannot
attack my computer.  Anti-virus software and the latest
security updates also help prevent problems such as
this.
